I've been at it all week!!!

making cards that is!!!  What else?!

Good evening blogworld,

I've not made so many cards in one week for aggggesss!!!  I can't show most of them as they are for DT posts next week - but I made one final one tonight as I wanted to put something on the blog before the weekend!

So, with apologies for the bad lighting in this picture ( I might well take another in better light), here is me card:

Front shot:

Her close up:
 I used:

Stamp:
My Favourite Things - Doodle Garden : Far Out
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Nesties - circle and scalloped circle
Memory Box - the heart (which I've chopped up)

Papers:
BoBunny - Ambrosia Collection

Anything else?
A very old heart doily
Chipboard - from my stuff

So, those of you who make lots of cards, how do you do it? Make more than one card a day I mean!  Even when I make a very simple card it takes me all day.  Of course I do have housework, school run, swimming (for me and SWMbO) and Rainbows.  Or is that all just an excuse and am I really just a very slow / bad card maker!!

That's it for this week, we've got a busy weekend planned so no time for blogging or crafting, but I'll see you again next week - lots of times.

Cheerio

I'm so excited!

Good morning blogworld

Well I am really, really, really excited!  I've only gone and been asked to Guest DT over at Papertake Weekly for a couple of months!  I'd put my name in the hat a couple of times and not been lucky - this time I was.  One happy bunny here then!

So without further ado, or waffle!, here's the details.  The challenge this week is either a lovely sketch (#87) or a free for all and, as always, there is a fab prize on offer.

This is the sketch:

Now anyone who knows me and my waffle knows I love a good sketch to follow and that's just what this - so I followed it and this is what I came up with:

Just before bed,

Good evening blogworld,

Well this is a late one for me isn't it!  I thought I'd sneak on before toddling on up the apples to bed - what with it being a school night and all.

I must admit to being glad half-term is over as, my goodness, it's been an odd week!  Me ill the last week of school, Emily ill all week during the half-term and grandad staying at the same time!  Talk about no time to myself at all - was taken up with a sickly daughter who needed lots of attention!  Also turns out Emily's virus went to her ears and she has an ear infection which she is now on antibiotics for and the improvement is remarkable!

So to celebrate our return to health we went out to the cinema today - saw Tinkerbelle and the Pirate Fairy.  It's one of those very rare times when Emily did not cry at all, or want to come out of the film early.  Made such a difference watching a film with a happy child - even if she didn't want to sit next to me, but snuggled up to Daddy!!!

Anyways, waffly waffly waffly.  Onto the card:

Front shot:

Her Close Up:

The Arty Farty:

There's something about this card that just doesn't sit right for me, and it might be the papers or the flowers I'm not sure.  But hey ho, I'm not doing too badly with the colouring (I think!) and I love the image - so I show!

I used:

Digi Stamp:
All Dressed Up - Little Bookworm
coloured with my Copics

Dies:
Memory Box - for the border
Die-namics - for the corner

Papers:
First Edition - New Bloom

Anything else?
Flowers from my stuff
Craftwork Cards - sentiment

That's all from me folks - nighty night!

All spotty and dotty!

Hi blogworld

Well that's been a long time between posts hasn't it!  My excuse is that I've been poorly - and reet poorly at that too, it's the worse I've felt in ages.  Don't know if it was a 'man' flu or a virus, all I do know is it knocked me for six and I'm just beginning to feel better now.  Of course, SHMbO has now gone and caught it and has spent the last three days on the sofa - so even less done about the house than when I was feeling ill!!

Anyway, am hoping all bugs and viruses are now on their way out now and we will all be well enough to go out and about during half-term.

Onwards and upwards!

And so the real reason for this post is that it's new challenge time over at The Cutie Pies and this time we would like to see your cutest projects which have 'spots and dots' on.

This fortnight we are sponsored by:

http://www.sweetstamps.com/
$10 gift certificate

and

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/shop/
$5 gift certificate

And this is my card, not my best as I wasn't feeling that well when I made it, but at least I'm joining in - which at one point I thought I wouldn't be!!

One and only shot:

I used:

Digi Stamp:
From the Heart - Ladybug Liftoff
coloured with my Copics
with chalks for the background

Dies:
Nesties - for the image
Impression Obsession - bow

Papers:
Random scraps

Anything else?
beaded heart, ribbons - from my stuff
Craftwork Cards - sentiment
Viva Pearls - for the spots on the balloons and party hat

So that's it folks - I hope you can find the time to join in, we are looking forward to seeing your spotty / dotty / cutesy creations!!!

Cheerio

Well it's partly true!!

Good afternoon blogworld,

Am still behind with the housework - but I'm also still making cards.  And I know which I'd rather be doing!!!

So here's my latest card, I totally agree with the sentiment but I don't look like the image!  Maybe I did once, but now not!  Wish I did, but (unfortunately) I found I like food and I don't like exercise :-)

For a 'super' boy

Good morning blogworld,

I'm on a bit of a roll with the old carding at the mo.  Of course this means that housework is suffering, so I'm going to have to stop soon - but I'm sticking with while Le Mojo is visiting me!

Now I'm sure you all remember me panicking earlier this week and asking for your help on finding a suitable image for a get well for card SWMbOs' best (boy)friend.

I wanted to say thank you for all the great suggestions - and I've bookmarked the digi sites for closer inspection when my crafting budget is restored.  In the end though I went with a 'super' theme.  As in he's 'super' because he's been brave and a bit of a 'super' hero!!!

Do ya think a nearly 7 yr old will get it???  I hope so!  I know his mum will - and I also hope he doesn't mind the pink cape - I didn't do very well with making it red!!!!

So here you go:
Front shot:

His Close Up:

I used:

Digi Image:
Little Miss Muffet: Polka Dot Pals Toby
coloured with Copics and Pink Grey Graph'Its

Dies:
Die-namics: Stacking Stars

Papers:
echo park: A Boy's Life

Anything else:
Computer generated font

We are off to visit him tomorrow afternoon, I'm sure there will be lots to catch up on!

Have a good weekend folks and I'll see you next week,

Sarah

A challenge, or two:

Sketch Saturday: Week #295

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge: Challenge 245 - Get Well/Sympathy/Sorry.  I know the card doesn't actually say 'Get Well', but that is the reason for the card.  I hope it qualifies, otherwise no problems if you want to delete.

Vellum????

Good morning blogworld,

It's time for a new challenge over at MAWTT our lovely teamie Wendy has chosen the theme 'use parchment or vellum'.  Hmmmm, welll, here's the thing - I don't have any parchment and I haven't used vellum for years!!!!!

So, for me, this was quite a challenge - and then when you see what my teamies have created, I've not been that creative!  I'm sure there are lots of you out there who will do so much better!

Anyway - this is my card:

The Front shot:

Trying to show the vellum on the butterfly:

Another angle (and I forgot the Close Up shot!):

I used:
Digi stamp:
All Dressed Up - Three Little Party Girls
coloured with Copics
Sentiment stamps - Lili of the Valley

Dies:
Go-Kreate
Memory Box - butterfly
Nestie - for the image

Papers:
Scraps again - First Edition (I think)

Everything else (did you notice I threw the kitchen sink at it?)
Wild Orchid Crafts - flowers
Hobby House - Pearl swirls
Metal corners and flower ribbon - from my stuff

Really you should go and see my teamies creations - they were much more creative with vellum than I was!

Looking forward to seeing your entries in the challenge,

Sarah

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I will thank everyone personally for all the suggestions - I will get round but you all know how bad I am at doing that quickly!  So I'm saying now - thank you all very much.  You are all soo much better than me at finding images - I've spent all morning on the 'puter and gave up in disgust!!!

Oh and just in case anyone is interested.  I've had regular updates from my friend about her son (SWMbO best (boy)friend).

They spent all day in the Hospital, (with no food for him!) and went in Theatre around 3/30pm. He is now out of Theatre and awake - has had wire put in his hand which needs to come out in 3 weeks time, so goes back for another op then.  He will be in a plaster for 6 weeks (no swimming, no PE) and is currently refusing meds, food and drink so they are keeping him in tonight.  Hoping to be home tomorrow.

All this from twisting his finger backwards at a party at a soft play area!!! I ask ya - who invented those places!!!  And why do kids love 'em so much!!!!

Thanks again,
Sarah

Suggestions...please?

Hi blogworld

This is just a quick question - my SWMbO's best (boy!)friend went into hospital today to have an op on his hand.

I've searched and searched for a boy 'get well soon' image - and come up with zilch!!  You'd think with the zillions of rubber and digi stamps I've got I'd have one image that I could use for a 7 yr old boy as a get well card - nope!

I'm obviously a terrible Googler as I can't find anything on the net either.  I don't want something too cutesy / beary / silly - he is a boy after all!  But, nope, not. a. thing.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look???

Many thanks

Sarah
