Just a note

Hi blogworld,

Somehow or other I seem to have a good week with the card making - maybe The Mojo is slowing finding his/her way back to me?  I do hope so, it would make me less grumpy!!!

So this is my last card for the week - hope you like.

The Front Shot:

Her Close Up:

I used:

Digi stamp:
Time for Tea - Sitting girl with birdie
coloured with ProMarkers and Copics
(before I was brave enough to try the Copics on their own!)
sentiment is part of a very old stamp!

Dies:
Nestie for the card base
Die-namics - Blueprints 1

Papers:
They are scraps so I'm not sure.

Anything else?
Cuttlebug - embossing folder
Distress Inks around the edge of the embossed panel
Viva pearl pen

Hope everyone has a good weekend,

See you Monday,
Sarah

Something new....

well for me anyway!

Good morning blogworld

Well here goes - deep breath and show.

This is my first card where the image is coloured completely with Copics (apart from the sky which is with chalks (I doubt I will ever be brave enough to try properly colouring a sky!)).

I don't mind at all if you want to tell me where I've gone wrong - as long as it doesn't get too insulting!! Otherwise I'd have to send one of the moggies round to lick you to death ;-)

Front shot:

Her Close Up:
I used:

Digi Stamp:
Time for Tea - Sitting girl with birdie
coloured with Copics!!!

Dies:
CC Designs - Teardrop border
Whimsy Stamps - fence

Papers:
My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found; Blush

I won't tell you all the things I think are wrong with it or that I think the fence was a mistake - instead I'll just let you make up your own minds.

I've sung.

Sarah

A challenge, or two:

In the Pink Challenge: Challenge #36 - Diecuts and Punches (just diecuts for me - hope that's OK?)

Without Words: Spots and/or stripes - Just spots for me

Urgh what a day!

Good afternoon blogworld,

My goodness it is a dull, dreary, windy, 'orrible day!

We went for a little trip out to Skegness, took SWMbO to a play centre as a treat for getting 50 merits at school.  She gets a certificate at assembly on Monday and she's got it 6 months earlier this year than last.  Don't know if you remember all the trouble we had with school last year - this year seems to be going much better.  She likes her teacher and that boy is (mostly!) leaving her alone.  So happy days!

Anyway point of this ramble is that it is wild out there - 'specially in Skeggy!!!

So now that I've got that waffle out of the system, here's a card!  Not made for any occasion, just trying to get back into the habit and kick start the old Mojo.

Not very happy with the colouring on the hat (there's no definition to it), but overall not too bad.

Front shot:

Close up:

The Arty Farty:

I used:

Digi stamp:
All Dressed Up - Three Little Autumn Girls
coloured with ProMarkers and Copics

Papers:
First Edition (will go check which one)

Dies:
Memory Box - hearts

Anything else?
My Crafty Heart - pearl hearts
Craftwork Cards - sentiment

I've got to start practising much more with the Copics.  The old hubby has got me an early birthday present.  A very large collection of Copics!!!! At least he's not made me wait until July (when it is my birthday!) to have them ;-)

See you soon,
Sarah

A challenge, or two:

All Dressed Up Challenge: Challenge #7 - Anything Goes

Crafting by Designs: Get your girl on

Stampin' For the Weekend: Happy Birthday

Cute Card Thursday: Challenge 304 - So Sweet (I think the image is very sweet, but if that doesn't qualify for the challenge please delete my entry - no problems)

Here kitty, kitty!!!

Hello blogworld,

It does seem like a long time since I posted for MAWTT - it's because I volunteered to change teams and so had to wait two weeks before joining in again with a challenge.  But, as they saying goes, all good things come to those who wait and here I am!

The theme this week has been chosen by our lovely Teamie Janice and she's picked 'cats' - so anything with our furry friends on please!  This great new Hampton Art Stamps Wooden stamp called Kitty Tiles is the prize for the winner.

And so onto the old card.  Now Mr (Mrs, Miss, Ms?) Mojo is still away on their jollies and so this is a very simple card.

The Front Shot:

The Close Up:

The Arty Farty:

I used:
Digi stamp:
From Pollycraft (sadly closed down)
coloured with my ProMarkers

No dies
No papers

Anything else?
3d gloss on the eyes
We Are Memory Keepers - Whiteout - for the chipboard sentiment

Before I go, Janice also asked for piccies of your putty cats, if you don't object - so to start us off here's my rouges gallery:

Oscar loves climbing in things - boxes or cupboards or cars or even prams!

This is Tinker:

Tinker had kittens - these are the two of them we kept:

Ewok:

Worried (she was called that as a kitten and it's stuck as she is a very worried cat!!)

I'm really going to enjoy wandering around blogworld with this one!

See ya soon,

Sarah

A challenge or two:

Divas by Design: Anything Goes

Fub 'n' Funky Challenges: Challenge #200 - All About the Words

Sweet Stampin: Your Favourite Style - that would be fairly Clean and Simple then! Mostly, anyway ;-)

January blues

Good morning blogworld,

The Cutie Pies are back!  The challenge this fortnight is 'January Blues' - so projects with blue tones on them please

We are lucky enough to have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge:
are offering 4 images of the randomly chosen winners choice from their online store.
and we welcome back to the Cutie Pies

who are offering a £10 gift voucher for their online store, to our DT chosen winner.

This is my card:
Front Shot:

Arty Farty:

Close up of a sparkly snowflake:

I used:

Digi Stamp:
Just some lines - Emo Snowflake
coloured with Copics and ProMarkers
chalk for the background

Paper:
Basic Grey - Figgy Pudding

Dies:
Nesties - image
Memory Box - snowflakes
My Favourite Things - border

Sentiment;
Polkadoodles

Anything Else?
Prima - flowers
Wild Orchid Crafts - blue/white flowers
Stickles Glitter Glue
Martha Stewart glitters

So far January has been OK for me.  Exercise routine started and some weight lost but, oh dear!, I also appear to have lost me Mojo.  Again!  I'm beginning to wonder if it's being cramped in a corner of the dining room / office that's doing it to me - or whether I'm just having a bad few months or so!  So very few cards made.

Hi ho - cheerful thoughts!

See you again soon,

Sarah

Little Miss Muffet

Good morning blogworld

I had some good news a few weeks ago - I won a challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog and, alongside the prize itself, was asked if I'd like to make something for a Guest spot.  Of course I said yes!! I've never done a Guest Design before and was well chuffed to be asked!

The challenge theme is 'What a fuss' - so fussy cutting.  Now a year or so ago I would've almost changed my mind when I heard that!  But I'm practising my cutting skills (I wonder if my bad scissorship is because I'm left handed?) and I'm slowly getting better.  In fact, so much so that I'm beginning to prefer cutting out the image than putting it through me Cuttlebug!

Anyways - before I bore you all to death - here's the card:

The Front Shot:

His Close Up:

 The Arty Farty:
I used:

Digi Stamp:
coloured with Copics and ProMarkers

Papers:
Echo Park - A Boy's Life

Anything else?
Arrows, sentiment - We Are Memory Keepers; Whiteout
Twine from B&Q!!

And that's about it folks!  It's just time to say thanks to Faye for asking me to GDT, a complete privilege and sooo exciting!

And apologies again for not blogging much just lately - still getting back into the craft habit!!

Hopefully see you all soon.

Sarah

A challenge, or two:

Charisma Cardz Challenge: Challenge #2 - It's a boy thing

First card of 2014

Hello blogworld,

Firstly I wanted to say thank you for the comments you've left on my Copic headspin moment.  If I haven't visited your blog to say thank you - I will do soon!

So here, is my first card of 2014.  I haven't coloured / made a card for nearly three weeks and boy can I see that!!  As always with the first card I make after a long break I'm not entirely happy with it - 'specially seeing as how I'm experimenting with the Copics - so please ignore the face!!!!!

Still it's done, and I'm sure the more I do the more into the swing I'll get.

Here we go:

Front shot:

The close up: (arrrrggh colouring!!)

The arty farty:

I used:

Digi stamp:
All Dressed Up Stamps - Three Little Party Girls
coloured with Copics, Graph'Its and ProMarkers

Dies:

Papers:
BoBunny - Isabella

Anything else?
Stickles glitter glue
Flower - from stash
Craftwork Cards - sentiment

My goodness this card was hard work.  Took me all day to make - not very productive, eh!!!

Onwards and upwards, onwards and upwards.

See you soon,

Sarah

Headspin, Headspin, Headspin

Arrggghhh

Right, calm down and think!

Ladies (and gents) I'm on the verge of abandoning my Pros.  So I'm trying out Copics and Graph 'Its.

I've had a lovely little parcel arrive this morning with a few (yes, really - a few!) Copics in.  I've ordered some skin tones - and some browns for hair.

Hair - OK, I can deal with that.

Skin tones - this is the cause of the headspin - there are soooo many colour combos out there on the internet and I don't know where to start!

Can anyone help with what they use for Copics for skin colour?  I've got E000; E00; E11; E21; E50; E51 and E95.

Do you use these colours?  If so, what combos do you use?  I think I like E000; E00; E11 and E13 - but maybe I'm being a bit conservative?  Is it a wishy washy combo?

Thank you for all and any advice - I'm away to try out some more now and to surf a bit more and to try and actually make a card!!!!

Just one more question tho - if you do use Copics; do you have the whole set?  Or do you think a few colours from each family is enough?  There seem to be loads of colours!

Thanks again,
Sarah

A holiday for The Cuties

Good evening blogworld,

It's the last day of the holidays' here and we've had one of Emily's friends round - so I'm later than I should be with this post. But, better late than never so here I am!

It should be the start of a new challenge over at The Cutie Pie challenge but we've been allowed a well earned rest (thank you Lisa ;-)) and so instead of a challenge there is some candy instead.

And what nice candy it is too!!

To win it you have to be in it and have it displayed in your sidebar - so why not pop on over and pop your name down?  Simples!

See ya

Sarah

Thursday 2 January 2014

So,

2014, eh!

First proper post of the New Year and it's for the new challenge over at MAWTT - this week the lovely Claire has picked the theme which is 'Thank You'.

It really should be Emily's (my daughter also known as She Who Must be Obeyed (SWMbO)) name under this card.  I do like her to do thank you cards for Christmas and Birthday -so she picked the image, I printed it out and she put the glitter on the snowman.  Simple, quick and easy for a 6 1/2 year old to do.

So whaddya think then?

How many of us have New Year Resolutions then.  I know I have - shall we see how many I can keep, hmmm?

Gotta dash, got a poorly daughter calling - will be back to finish off later.

Another departure

Hi there blogworld

There's a new challenge for a New Year over at Flat Friends Challenge blog but unfortunately I didn't manage to get anything done in time to join in.

This is a problem I've had a lot over the last six months - failing to make cards in time - so I've taken the difficult decision to also step down from the lovely Emma's team over at Flat Friends.

I'm a terrible blogger at the minute, if anyone had told me how little time I'd have to myself once Emily started school and the holiday cottage took off - I'd have laughed at them.  Plus all the major remodelling of the house doesn't help!

So I'm cutting back on DT work and hoping that will give my Mojo time to rejuvenate it's self.

Anyway that's enough whinging from me - and it's also a New Year's resolution - less whining on blog.  There's plenty other people much worse off than me out there.

Hopefully normal service will resume soon.

Sarah
