Getting punchy!

but no violence, promise!!

Hello blogworld,

Well there you go it's been a few days again hasn't it since I waffled on at you!  I have been busy, no really I have, making DT cards, which will appear over the next week but I've also got a niggle of a cold that is throwing me off kilter.

Still I'll sniff, cough and carry on!  Before I get onto business though, I will say hello to my newest follower - thank you for deciding to join me on my bloggy waffles and occasional cards!  Hope you enjoy!!

Can you believe it's my time already for a second DT card for Moving Along with The Times and this week's  theme is 'Punch it Out' - so we'd like to see your punches or dies used on your project.

We are sponsored this week by MazyArt with a prize of 5 digi images of your choice:

The DT were very kindly allowed to pick an image of their choice and this is the card I made with my selection:

Our weekly sponsor, offering a fab prize is:

Our monthly sponsor, with a £10 voucher:
Now I had meant to go to town on the ribbons but I spent soooo long stamping / masking / positioning  then sooooo long colouring that I almost forgot about the ribbon - so there's just the one!

I'd also so ran out of puff that I just left it fairly plain.  Just hope all that effort was worth it!!

Fairytales!

Hello blogworld

Firstly I wanted to say thank you for all the lovely comments you left on my snowy pictures!  I'm glad to know that I'm not entirely biased and other people think Emily is a bit on the cute side ;-)

Also yes we do have a bit of a large garden - all told our land runs to 3/4 of an acre, large garden for non-gardeners, eh!!

And so onto business - it feels like it's been ages since I did a Divas by Design DT card, but here I am with my card for the new challenge.  Which explains the post title - the challenge theme this week is 'Fairytales', now all say ahhhh!  Who doesn't like imagining that life as a fairytale princess would be lovely - and there  doesn't even have to be pink at all either on the image or card - take mine, not an ounce of pink in sight!!

Our sponsor this week is:

with a fab prize on offer for one lucky person.

So onto my card:

coloured with my Promarkers

Papers:
First Edition - Love Letters

Anything else?
Gems, ribbon and heart from my stuff
Glamour Dust for crown and wings
Craftwork Cards - sentiment

Boy I sweated over this colouring, really, really tried hard with all the folds on her dress, I'm not sure it worked but on the whole I think I'm improving!

I'm really looking forward to this challenge seeing all variations there can be on the theme - my Teamies cards aren't half bad either!!!

Well finally!

If you're here looking for my Cutie Pies DT card please scroll down to the post before.

This is all about the snow that finally arrived last night!  We did have a fairly good fall last week, which hasn't really gone at all, but it didn't close any schools, stop any buses or generally impact on our everyday doings at all.

The stuff that fell last night, was different though - started about 8/9pm and appeared to have fell until 6ish this morning.  Schools shut and the road is quiet!  Rainbows is still on though - don't think anything short of catastrophic would stop that!!!

So I'm now going to bore you with pictures:

From the bottom of our garden looking back towards house:

Cheeky little thing ain't she!  Just about to lob a huge snowball at me!

Looking out past our house onto the 'main' road!!

We are supposed to be due more tomorrow early morning, so no idea if school will be on tomorrow or not! Love snow, love SHMbO being off home unexpectedly, but it does cramp my crafting style - cards that were meant to be made today, are not!!

See you all soon,
Sarah

I don't know..

both about what to put for a post title and about this card!

Good morning blogworld,

Another Monday morning and that means it's a new challenge at The Cutie Pies, for this challenge we would like to see your super cute makes that use 3 different textures - so that could be embossing, ribbon, twine, buttons - etc!

We are lucky enough to have two wonderful sponsors this time

The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop is an online store supplying a wide selection of gorgeous ribbons, twine, embellishments, rubber stamps and mulberry paper flowers for all of your cardmaking and crafting needs. We currently have a sale on where you can pick up lots of bargains! Free postage on all UK orders over £25 (international orders will receive the equivalent discount).
One lucky winner, chosen by our Cutie DT Susan, will receive this gorgeous prize
also

Just Some Lines is a digital stamp shop where lines bring characters to life. It has over 250 digital stamps available for purchase, including sentiments. The images are drawn by Jehanne, the owner. Jehanne is a self taught artist who enjoys drawing whimsical characters including fish, turtles, dogs, cats, fairies, angels, ballerinas, chefs, firefighters, and more!

One lucky winner, chosen at random will win a $12 gift certificate for Just Some Lines.

So there you go, that's the sponsor info dealt with.  The DT were lucky enough to be allowed to pick some digi images to play with and this is the card that I made with my pick.  I'm just not so sure about this one, it looks too busy and uneven to me - I was trying for lots of layers, hmmm not right this time I think!!

Wobbly!

Not me you understand (well actually yes I am rather wobbly!) but for the purposes of this post it only refers to....

a tooth!

Hello blogworld,

Even more exciting times - SHMbO has her first wobbly tooth!!  She was eating her sandwich the other day and sat there looking even more serious than usual.  When asked what was wrong - she said her teeth hurt, I was like - teeth, hurting?  What do you mean?  The answer - a very serious 'I said my teeth hurt!.'

So on closer inspection - the front, bottom, left tooth is wobbly!!!  It has not fallen out, but you can already see the new tooth coming up behind it.  Now I thought that one tooth pushed out the other, am I wrong?  I'm a bit worried that she's going to end up with two teeth at once.

Anyway she isn't worried at all and was very happy at the thought of the tooth fairy visiting - so I made this box for the tooth / fairy! It's a bit rough around the edges, not made a box for ages!! But Emily loves it, so job a good 'un.

Anything else?

Y'know I'm such a lazy crafter - I've had fine tips for me Pro's for ages, but not used them.  When I was making this and the card I posted yesterday I put them on my pens to do the hair - quite like the results!  Maybe I should use them more often than once in 6 months!!!

So, have I made up with waffle today, for the non-waffly post yesterday then??!!

See you soon
Sarah

Just a quick one

Hi all,

Firstly I must say thanks to everyone for the lovely messages about my two and their dislike of any new food - you lot are awful sweet!

Then I've also realised I've passed the 200 followers mark - hello to my newest followers it's lovely to see you and I hope you like what you see!  I'm still wondering how on earth I managed to get 200 people interested in my waffle and cards!  I will have to sort out some candy methinks.

Point D - this will be short though as not really in a waffly mood today - have had a thumping headache all day, even got hubby to take SHMbO to school and went back to bed!  Thankfully not turning in a migraine, but still one of those 'nothing done days'.

Still thought I'd pop up hubby's birthday card - it's a bit odd I know, but what do you do when hubby turns the half century +1, and doesn't do cute: sweet: flowers: glittery: etc, etc!  So you go quirky, well I do anyway.

Here you go, I'll pop back tomorrow with the details when I feel more human.

In a huff

OK so this isn't about cards - it's my other love which is cooking - and it's a moan.

Mostly I bake, but I do like to try out new recipes as well for cooking as opposed to baking - but it's not something I get to do often.  Hubby and SHMbO do not like anything 'odd', 'new', 'lumpy', 'tasty' or 'different'.

So tonight I try a vegetable casserole (don't know that I've ever said but we're vegetarian) want to hear the reaction?

Tears and 'I'm not eating that'!! from SHMbO
He takes one look at it says I can see onion, why did you put onion in it and goes and makes himself a cheese omelette which they both then eat.

I've now got vegetable casserole for dinner for the next three nights - at least!

There have been tears - and not all of them were hers.

I'm going to bed now.  Maybe tomorrow I'll just go buy chips it would be easier.

Sarah

Arrggh...

who invented gingham - tell me please as I want to give them a piece of my mind (well a piece of what's left of it anyway!).

Hello blogworld,

So what's the best thing about Saturdays?  A new challenge at Sweet Stampin, of course and as you might have guessed the theme this week is 'Gingham'.

Can I say this please before we go any further - I do not like Gingham, I tried to like it, I really did, but it just didn't work, so this challenge was a real challenge!

Our monthly sponsor, with a £10 voucher is:
Our weekly sponsor, with a $20 certificate is:

My Teamies have made wonderful examples for you, I, however, made this:

Papers:
my mind's eye - Pretty Please papers (I think that's what they were called, they were a free gift from a mag years ago)

Anything else:
Paper twine, charm, gems, decorative corner, the dreaded gingham - all from stash.

So there you go, first Sweet Stampin card, for me, of 2013 - it will get better promise!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, I should be off out tomorrow to watch the new Tinkerbell film with SHMbO and a couple of her friends this is assuming that we don't get snowed in of course ;-)

See you soon,
Sarah

Getting there!

Hello blogworld,

Well at least it wasn't a week again between posts!  Am starting to get  back to normal, whatever normal is, so normal blogging service should be resumed shortly.

Not much to waffle about today, so will get straight on with the card, which is this one:

Front shot:

Close up of image:

The arty farty:
I used:
Digi stamp:
Pollycraft image (and sentiment) coloured with my Promarkers

Papers:
echo park - A Boy's Life

Dies:
Nestie square

Anything else?
Just a sticker - which I don't actually like but was stuck solid before I could take it off again!

And finally SHMbO made her own card!  We invariably turn up to parties with two cards - one I made and one she did.  At the moment she seems to be going through a stage of not decorating the outside, but putting everything inside!!  Her colourings' not bad though is it - she's managing to stay in the lines.  Of course, it's all done with my Pros - she sits next to me and barks out what colours she wants.  Woe betide me if I give her the wrong shade as well!!!

Cheerio
Sarah

A challenge, or two:

Here come the boys: Challenge #43 - Sketch
Creative Creations Challenge: #1 - Anything Goes (new challenge - best of luck ladies!)
Inky Chicks: #1 - Anything Goes (again a new challenge and best of luck ladies!)

I will get back to posting more regularly - promise - but it won't be until later this week when SHMbO has gone back to school and after I've tided up from the last two weeks worth of not being able to tidy up properly!!

Anyway for now I'm here and it's a very nice reason to be here too - the first challenge of the New Year for The Cutie Pies and this time it's a lovely sketch to follow and a great couple of sponsors.

Happy blingy New Year!

Hello blogworld

And welcome to 2013 at Created by Sarah - hope you all had a fabulous and safe New Year!

To start the new year off with a bang it's a new challenge over at Flat Friends and this time the challenge is to go 'blingy'!  So we'd like to see, along with your Emma Canning digi, any sort of bling - gems, rhinestones, glitter - that sort of thing!

I must admit I do struggle sometimes with bling - it's not that I don't like it, I'm partial to a bit of Glamour Dust on my cards!, but I'm never quite sure whether I've gone OTT, so I tend to play it safe and go for less rather than more.

So here we go, this is my first card of the new year - hope you like!

Front shot:

The arty farty:

Her close up!

I used:

Emma Canning: Taylor Bell

Anything else?

There we go, that's me got 2013 of to a flying carding start - lets hope I keep going eh!

See you soon,
Sarah
